Happy Thanksgiving TVC Family!
While this year has certainly presented all of us with quite the unexpected twists and turns, it is always possible (and good!) to stop and recognize the many blessings that God has bestowed upon His people. One of those blessings that I stop and give thanks for today is the church family that makes up The Village Church.
I think of the words of the Apostle Paul in his letter to the saints at Ephesus:
"This is why, since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I never stop giving thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers. I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the perception of your mind may be enlightened so you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the glorious riches of His inheritance among the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power to us who believe, according to the working of His vast strength."
I thank God for the fact that we are able to do life together as a church family week in and week out. Through ups and downs we have seen God's faithfulness toward His Church.
My prayer today is that we would take time to slow down and be reminded of the immense blessings that He has granted to each of us. That we would realize that our happiness is not wrapped up in how much stuff we have, but in the depth and importance of the relationships around us. I for one am thankful for the relationships that have been formed within His Church, and the impact that those relationships are making as we strive each day to run the race of faith well.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving TVC family! Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
