Good evening TVC family!
I hope this message finds you well on this beautiful Friday night!
I wanted to take a moment to reach out to bring some clarity to the many questions we’ve received surrounding the new statewide mask requirement that was issued yesterday by Governor Evers. While we recognize that the issue of masks has already become one that has polarized people even before this decision came down, we want you to be aware of what you can expect as we move forward with our in person gatherings, in hopes of remaining united in the gospel as a faith community. Please understand that our decisions are carefully and prayerfully considered as we desire to honor God and others in all that we do.
Regarding our role when it comes to the governor’s order, it is important to understand that as a church, respectfully, we are in no way responsible to, nor will we, enforce the details of the order on the public during gatherings at The Village. The order has a long list of exemptions outlined within it, and we as church leadership are not going to be asking anyone to give a reason as to why they are, or are not, wearing a mask. The reasons will certainly vary and can be very personal in nature. This is not our place to take on the role of verifying those reasons. While at times it may be tempting to assume we know why people have made certain choices, we would ask that you allow those around you the freedom and grace to make the decisions that are best for themselves and their families.
We will be continuing to live-streaming both our 8:30am and 10:30am services for those who cannot make it in, or are choosing to remain home throughout this season of life we all find ourselves in. Please be aware, there will no doubt be people who will be at service with and without masks on for the reasons outlined above, so please choose to worship either in person or online as you feel is best for you and your family to do. We have said since we opted to meet back in person that we are striving to create a safer environment, but cannot create a completely safe environment. There is always an assumed risk in everything that we do. From driving a car to going to the store, and even going to church.
Please remember, if you or your family members are not feeling well, or are showing any signs of sickness, we ask that you join us online at www.villagechurchwi.com/live to be a part of the worship experience until you feel better. This is the best way to ensure that we are part of the solution of creating a healthy community in Central Wisconsin.
We are working on making sure we have masks available for those who may not have one, but may not have them in time for Sunday’s services, so please plan accordingly.
We hope you’ll be able to join us Sunday morning either in person or online, and are thankful for each and every one of you!
